Product Description:

Hawks Brake Pads, Front 1994-97 Camaro Firebird
The essence of performance is speed control. And speed control is all about confidence. The confidence is knowing that you can control your vehicle- even when you bring it to the edge. Stopping and slowing are critical aspects of race performance. It only makes sense to go with the best possible braking products for your street performance vehicle. Hawk brake pads are used by champions in every category of the racing industry...they are proven over and over with decades of R&D.

Hawk's "HPS" brake pads are high performance street pads that are race worthy. They are very high torque and rotor friendly for the serious street driver. These are the same pads chosen by GM for the new Corvettes.

    Transformed my SS

Posted by Keith Soreng on 13th Nov 2018

I replaced the pads from a recent shop brake job with these HPS pads and the car stops much better in every situation. The generic pads had been on the car for about 3,000 miles so they had been given every chance to bed in and yet they were slow to respond and had poor friction in emergency stops (deer!). The new Hawk pads are quick to react with much better torque. They come on strong when cold and yet in repeated braking they have not faded yet. I checked temps and the pads were trouble free even at 450 degree on the disc. I did clean and sand my discs like the instructions recommend but that's it. With only 3,000 miles they were in very good shape and after the "burnishing " that Hawk recommended (repeated stops from 30 mph and then repeated stops from 45 mph followed by a 15 minute cool down) they were good to go.
